A Yamaha MT4X multitrack cassette recorder, designed as a portable four-track analog recording studio. The unit features an integrated four-channel mixer. Each channel includes rotary controls for Gain, a 3-band Equalizer for High, Mid, and Low frequencies, two Aux sends, and Pan, along with a linear level fader. The master section includes a master level fader and monitor level controls. The transport section features standard controls for recording, playback, and high-speed search, complemented by a digital counter and track selection buttons. The top panel includes a clear cassette well cover and a multi-segment LED display area. The right side panel contains the input and output interface, featuring four 1/4 inch Mic/Line inputs, RCA Monitor and Stereo outputs, RCA Tape outputs for tracks 1 through 4, two 1/4 inch Aux sends, and RCA Aux returns. It also includes Sync I/O and Punch I/O ports, a DC power input, and a power switch. The manufacturer name YAMAHA is printed in white lettering on the top panel. The model name MT4X MULTITRACK CASSETTE RECORDER is printed vertically on the bottom right corner of the top panel. A circular white sticker with handwritten text is present on the upper surface.
