A Maestro Echoplex EP-3 solid-state tape delay unit, manufactured by the Chicago Musical Instrument Co. The unit is housed in a portable wood case with a black tolex (vinyl) covering and integrated metal hardware. The control panel features a sliding lever for echo delay adjustment from short to long durations. Control knobs are provided for repeats, echo volume, recording level, and echo tone with bass and treble adjustments. The unit includes inputs for a microphone and two instruments, as well as outputs for echo/off footswitch and playback. A three-lamp recording level indicator is situated on the main panel. The interior of the lid contains an original paper instructional label titled The Fantastic Echoplex Echo-Chamber. The central tape mechanism cover is embossed with the Echoplex logo. The chassis is marked with the Maestro Echoplex name and indicates solid-state circuitry.
